Affordable Activewear

2 years ago I birthed our baby boy and up until he was 1 1/2 it was a struggle for me to find the motivation to workout. Anyone else relate? I can imagine that is true for a lot of mamas!

So last year when I heard that a workout-mama-tribe was headed to our local fire station, I was stoked to take our little fire truck loving boy on a field trip. After that first workout – where a group of 15 moms greeted me with smiles, encouraged me with kind words, and high-fived me after a sweaty set of burpees – I was hooked!

I’ve been a part of that Stroller Strides group since last summer and have loved every sore and squat-infused workout. Plus how amazing is it that I don’t have to find childcare for my workouts, the kids all get to play with one another, and my son gets to see the example of a healthy lifestyle!

That creates a lot of happy exercise endorphins:

So…affordable activewear was something I had to start hunting down! Not to mention, cute workout gear definitely motivates me to get dressed and head to class. Most of the moms in our group wear Lululemon or have a subscription to Fabletics – but I wanted to find pieces that were just as stylish and good quality as the high-end brands, for less.

New Balance Running Shoes from Marshalls $34 (similar)

I love the classic look of these black and white tennies! They will go with anything and for running shoes, the price is good.

Nike Cropped Leggings from Nordstrom Rack $24 (similar)

Nike crops are my favorite workout leggings!! I only buy them on sale from JC Penney or Nordstrom Rack. They’re thick, squat proof, and moisture wicking so they keep you cool!

Nike Sports Bra from JC Penney $26 (similar)

Again, Nike wins!! I have never found a sports bra that holds my girls in like this one from Nike! It is supportive, thick, and still allows me to breathe. I love that it fits my large bust and narrow rib cage (I’m a size 34G for reference)!
