Fashion week was last week.
I’ve never been captivated by the shows, the hype, the street style, the media articles, recaps, posts, blogs, pictures, quite like I was this time. I followed Instagram feeds to get a behind the scenes look, watched shows on my lunch break at work, and took inspiration from not only the designers but also those in attendance. It was fun, like a carnival of great design or a living art gallery, and so I brought out my bucket list and hastily shot down a new adventure, “Attend a NYFW show.”
In the future it may need a little adjusting.”Be in NY while NYFW is in full swing” may be more appropriate, but for now, I will set my sights high!
I decided to honor NYFW with a look that I like, and one that reminds me of the Empire state.
This blouse seems to be made for my body style and incorporates some of my favorite fashion elements. Elements that include lace, bows, peplum, and vibrant red.
I can’t believe that I scored it at Ross, either.
The black skinny jeans were on sale at Nordstrom Rack and the Mary Jane, peep-toe pumps are BCBGeneration.
Now here’s a look at some of my favorite designs from NYFW S/S 2014:
Christian Siriano
NOON BY NOOR
Oscar de la Renta
Marchesa
I love being a girl.
