Sweet Summertime

It’s 115 degrees outside. Well…I lied. Today it was only 100 degrees, but it has been around 115 the past few weeks or so. And to be honest, I’m not complaining. My brother and Brandon tell me it’s because I sit in a cold office building all day, and they may be right; but when I step into the blaze, I honestly enjoy the feeling of the sun warming (ok, burning) my skin. In honor of the heat wave (I swear us Arizonians love to exaggerate the heat), this week will feature the world’s most popular style: casual.

Of course, what’s worth wearing if it isn’t slathered in sequins? This top takes the award for my most-complimented piece of clothing. I got it during a big sale at Express when my beautifully amazing bestie, Sammie, worked there. She’s in Texas now, and I miss her — along with the heads up when Express was purging their summer inventory. Hi Sammie! Anyways, it is a tribal inspired motif crafted entirely in sequins. It’s definitely one of my faves.

These distressed shorts are from American Eagle. I love that no matter what activities you are engaged in for the weekend, they can’t be ruined. And they are the perfect pair to wear with a bikini.

These shoes! I don’t think they are popular amongst the male audience; the men in my life have asked me what the heck I am wearing, but the good thing is, I don’t dress for them. I dress for me; and I love them! I’ve seen the other pairs of gladiators that go all the way up to the knee, and I want a pair of those too; I love the statement they make. This pair is from Target; the one store I walk out of having bought everything I didn’t need.
